As we all prepare to lock down I’d like to express, on behalf of the GBYC Committee, our well wishes and blessings on all of you our members, our team and all of your loved ones.

The club and harbour precinct will be COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN during the next 21 days. If you haven’t already done so, we suggest you consider preparation of your vessel in the same light as if you were heading off on an extended holiday.

Elenore has permission to inspect the marina and club house daily and this is obviously made more practical by the fact that she lives across the road. I have the necessary permissions to respond if there is an emergency on the marina or any vessel. No one else can come to the harbour during this time. We assure you that the necessary procedures are in place to cover emergencies in your absence and you will be contacted by the Club if there is a problem with your vessel.

If there are any specific requests or requirements for your vessel, these should be communicated and, if necessary, demonstrated today.

As we all grapple with the most bizarre and unusual circumstances, we encourage you to stay alert and responsible, to look out for one another by staying at home and to use the technology that we all love so much to remain connected.

Let us show each other support and strength in the coming weeks as our lives depend on it

Warm wishes and good health

Alan
